Your rights and responsibilities
As an apprentice or trainee in Victoria, under supervision you will:
- have the opportunity to learn all the skills related to your qualification
- receive training from a suitably qualified person
- have the chance to learn how to use the tools and equipment of your trade or occupation
- get hands-on experience in various tasks for all competencies in your training plan.
As an apprentice or trainee, it is your responsibility to:
- attend work and act in a professional and courteous manner
- respect the rights of others at work
- take care of your employer's property and resources,
- treat employer information as confidential
- make all reasonable efforts to achieve the competencies in your training plan
- complete all the required assessments
- attend training sessions or supervised workplace activities
- take advantage of learning opportunities
- maintain your training record book.
