Child Safe Standards for education providers

Regulatory information and guidance for the Child Safe Standards.

Victoria adopted Child Safe Standards in 2016 to protect children and young people from harm and abuse. New Standards were implemented on 1 July 2022 to increase protection for children and young people. This information and guidance helps education providers comply with those Standards.

The right guidance for you

Select which type of provider you are.

There are 6 regulators of the Child Safe Standards in Victoria. They work together to promote the safety of children and compliance.

Some organisations will have more than one regulator if they provide more than one service or facility (for example, an early learning centre and a registered school). Any regulator can refer a child safety concern to another relevant regulator. If you are unsure who your regulator is contact the Commission for Children and Young People.
