Sharing information to build high-quality apprenticeships and traineeships

The VRQA and Local Jobs First Commissioner commit to collaborating.

In December 2025, the VRQA and the Local Jobs First Commissioner signed a Statement of Collaboration.

We agreed to work together and share information about apprentices and trainees. This will strengthen our ability to ensure employers on government projects provide high-quality apprenticeships and traineeships.

We regulate apprenticeships in Victoria. The Local Jobs First Commissioner checks that government projects follow rules for hiring local apprentices, cadets and trainees.

This agreement will:

·         help ensure projects meet obligations to apprentices and trainees

·         assist us to identify issues affecting apprentices and trainees.
