All schools on the Bushfire-at-Risk Register and Category 4 grassfire-risk schools must close pre-emptively on days forecast as ‘Catastrophic’ in their fire weather district.
During the bushfire season, schools should frequently monitor fire danger ratings.
Schools may start preparing to close up to 4 days before a forecast Catastrophic fire danger rating day.
