The VRQA is now contacting all independent schools and school boarding premises scheduled for review this year.

Our 2025 cyclical review program will focus on compliance with the Child Safe Standards, including Ministerial Order 1359. Each year child safety risk assessments must be undertaken, monitored and reviewed.

All schools must have a risk management strategy to prevent, identify and mitigate child safety and wellbeing risks. The strategy must consider the school environment, programs the school delivers and the needs of students.

To support schools and school boarding premises undergoing reviews in 2025, we are holding 2 information sessions.

You only need to attend one session and can attend either online or in-person. Both sessions will provide an overview of the 2025 review process, and the regulatory and evidence requirements.

Session 1 is on Wednesday 2 April 2025, 3:00 pm to 4:30 pm

Session 2 is on Thursday 24 April 2025, 10:30 am to 12:00 pm
