The VRQA conduct regulatory campaigns and publish enforcement and compliance priorities centred around minimising the harms to Victorian apprentices and trainees.

This notifies the public of where we plan to deploy Authorised Officers and reminds employers of apprentices and trainees that they must comply with their obligations.

Our 2024 priorities for the regulation of apprenticeships and traineeships are:

  1. Women building and construction apprentices
  2. Labour hire organisations (LHOs)
  3. Employer training plan compliance
  4. Ban on engineered stone

These priorities are determined by our Ministerial Statement of Expectations, examination of data (including complaints and investigations) and consultation with co-regulators,

In addition, there are some harms so detrimental to apprentices and trainees that the VRQA will always regard them as a priority.
